Tensions and reconfigurations in higher education: the neoliberal Chilean experiment
Autor
Quaresma, Maria Luísa
Resumen
This paper aims to present a theoretical discussion about the university reconfiguration, and its massification and marketisation, taking as example Chile, one of the most highly marketized countries in the world. It discusses the challenges of a massification anchored in privatisation and segregation and also the Chilean student movements against the market-oriented educational system. With the discussion about the Chilean educational model implemented by the real neoliberalism over the last 40 years we intend to bring a proficuous contribution to the national debate in countries where the market ideology winds are blowing more strongly. © 2023 Editora Mundos Sociais.
