Resumen
The article aims to describe and analyze the socio-en-vironmental risk regime of urban and rural fauna of dogs and cats with and without an owner in the Region of La Araucanía (RLA) from the Risk Regulation Approach (ERR). Through a qualitative methodology, interviews and content analysis, the regulation regime was configured, which evidenced advances in definitions of the object to be regulated, the use of expert knowledge and the behavioral change of institutions. However, there are inadequacies in the attention to the domain, the difficulties to generate information, the scarcity of economic / human resources and punitive behaviors that interfere in the educational-preventive work. These advances and limitations in the regulation of socio-environmental risks challenge the governance of the problems associated with the urban and rural fauna of dogs and cats in Chile.
