Resumen
This article analyses the ethnic press of the twentieth century, regarded as a direct product of migration, in order to recreate links between immigrants and their native country. We focus in particular on the founding of the Italian newspaper L'Italia Illustrata, published in Chile from 1896 to 1898. We compare this newspaper's foundation with the other Italian gazette that had been active since 1891, highlighting the discrepancies between these media. After this, we present some images published in L'Italia Illustrata, grouping them into 3 sections, before finally setting forth our conclusions.
