dc.descriptionThe objective of the present research work is to interpret the conceptual knowledge in physical education and its relation with the senses attributed by the teachers in the integral formation of the discipline in the second level of high school of the Llanquihue's province in Los Lagos’ Region. An investigation was carried out with a mixed method design, with a status equality of sequential quantitative-qualitative order. 659 students and 10 teachers from the different administrative units participated. The most relevant results show in the students a clear weakness of the conceptual knowledge in physical education, although the teachers recognize important benefits and didactic strategies in the conceptual formation of the discipline. © 2018 Colégio Brasileiro de Ciências do Esporte
