In the last decade, international migration in Chile has become one of the main problems when thinking about the city and its public spaces. Knowing how cities are represented and what socio-spatial integration strategies are used is central to understanding the relationship of migrants with the urban space inhabited. Based on an exploratory qualitative study of international migration in Temuco, the results show that the different representations of urban space reveal images of a fragmented city that lacks concrete urban devices designed for the socio-spatial integration of foreigners, who, nevertheless, engage in various integration strategies that allow them to partially connect with the city and which are expressed in the various representations of it. © 2022, Universidad de Chile, Instituto de la Vivienda.
